WHAT IS TELEHEALTH PSYCHOLOGY? Telehealth psychology involves providing psychological services remotely via video conferencing technology. Ashleigh uses Zoom to conduct secure, confidential therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home.

IS TELEHEALTH PSYCHOLOGY AS EFFECTIVE AS IN-PERSON THERAPY? Research shows that telehealth psychology can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns. A research article published in 2021 analysed 5 different studies on the effectiveness of telehealth (video and phone) sessions vs in-person sessions and found no difference in the client’s self-reported outcomes and level of satisfaction.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A TELEHEALTH SESSION? 1. Find a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted 2. Ensure you have a stable internet connection 3. Test your camera and microphone before the session 4. Have a pen and paper handy for notes 5. Try to relax and approach the session as you would an in-person appointment

IS TELEHEALTH PSYCHOLOGY COVERED BY MEDICARE? Yes, Medicare covers telehealth psychology sessions. You'll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP to access Medicare rebates for psychology services.

DO YOU ACCEPT NDIS CLIENTS? Absolutely. While Ashleigh is not registered NDIS provider, she welcomes self/plan-managed clients using their NDIS funding for psychology sessions.

HOW SECURE & CONFIDENTIAL ARE TELEHEALTH SESSIONS? Ashleigh takes your privacy seriously. You will be provided with your own unique recurring Zoom link to use for sessions, ensuring that your conversations remain confidential. Ashleigh adheres to the same strict ethical and professional standards as in-person therapy.

WHAT IF I HAVE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES DURING A SESSION? Don't worry – technical hiccups can happen. Ashleigh will troubleshoot with you as needed and if issues persist, Ashleigh will Call/FaceTime you from a Private number.

CAN TELEHEALTH HELP WITH ALL TYPES OF MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS? Telehealth psychology is suitable for treating a wide range of mental health Concerns. However, Ashleigh will only work within the scope of her skills and if she believes you need specialist support she will refer you on as appropriate.

HOW DO I BUILD RAPPORT THROUGH A TELEHEALTH? Building a strong therapeutic relationship is just as possible online as it is in person. Many clients find that the comfort of their own Surroundings actually Enhances their ability to open up.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED FOR TELEHEALTH SESSIONS? You'll need: - A device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet, or computer) - A stable internet connection - The Zoom app or access to Zoom via a web browser - Headphones/Bluetooth to hearing devices for better audio quality (optional but recommended) - Privacy

HOW LONG ARE TELEHEALTH SESSIONS? Online sessions are 50 minutes long, just like traditional in-person therapy sessions.
